A sleep-out on the Makgadikgadi Pans is stargazing on a whole different level. After a proper 3-hour off-road adventure, you arrive at your “star bed” in the middle of nowhere; elevated above the pans, with nothing between you and the universe but a mosquito net. As night falls, silence takes over and the sky explodes into a dazzling canopy of stars – no light pollution, no distractions, just pure, uninterrupted wonder. It’s raw, remote, and a little bit surreal. And just when you’ve wrapped your head around it, sunrise steals the show, lighting up the pale pans in soft, golden hues.
